Plen is a tiny desktop sized robot created in 2006 by Systec Akazawa. It?s merely 9 inches (23cm) tall and only weighs one and a half pounds (700g). The robot includes a USB port and Bluetooth compatibility for inputting programs from its Correspondence OS motion editor and can be controlled using a Bluetooth compliant cell phone.

With 18 degrees of freedom, Plen is very articulated for its size. It is capable of walking upright and performing tricks such as karate kicks and getting up from lying down. Plen?s abilities don?t just stop there though, it has the strength and dexterity to lift small (yet comparatively large) objects and is capable of riding roller skates.

Plen sells for about 250,000 yen ($2,200 US)
