Neon is a humanoid robot created by Tomotaka Takahashi from ROBO-GARAGE that?s able to walk in long strides using foot-mounted electromagnets (instead of a bent-knee walk characteristic of many humanoid robots). NEON was featured at Robodex 2003 during the celebration of the "birth" year of Astro-Boy, the 1950s UrRobot of Japanese comics and animation. NEON?s walking technology has been applied to Kyosho?s toy ?Gunwalker?, which is sold throughout the world. The design used for NEON has also been applied to TeamOsaka?s robots Robovie-R and VisiON.
