![]() The complete suit will boost soldiers strength allowing them to carry more equipment, heavier armor, and increased firepower. A representative from DARPA claimed that "The upper body portion has arms that can hold a 40-pound weight at arms length for three minutes." That is most impressive, but because the suit relies on an internal combustion engine with the power of a scooter it will be "smelly and loud", and the suit won't be allowed indoors by OSHA because it's basically a vehicle. Not.
Have you seen the BLEEX videos? It's totally noisy. Same with the BigDog from Boston Dynamics. They are working on software and functionality first, it seems. Stealth, alternative power is next. |
