Kyunghee University Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea has began using a life-sized robot replica of a pregnant woman to give obstetric students hands-on experience with childbirth. The robot called Noelle was purchased for $20,000 US from the Miami-based Gaumard Scientific Co. Inc. in the United States. This is the first time this robot has been used in South Korea, but it is a suitable place for its employment as South Koreas birth rate is at its lowest ever. With an average of 1.08 children per woman students are having fewer chances to watch or practice delivering real babies. Source - Yahoo News |
